Within your Taster Day submissions and timetables area, you can record students' attendance by scanning their QR codes.
Navigate to Communications & Events > Taster Day > Student Timetables. There you will see an overview of all students who have registered to attend, and you will find the Scan QR Button.
This function is available to any staff member who is logged into your A+ system, and can be accessed on any device with a camera (for example a laptop, work phone, school iPad etc).
Click Scan QR to open the feature, and it may require you to enable camera access. You can then proceed to Start scanning and your device's camera will become active. The student should present their QR code to your camera and this will notify you once it has successfully been scanned - a status box will appear to let you know that student has been marked as attended.
What to check when a scan does not recognise a student
Each QR code belongs to one Taster Day submission. If a test scan does not recognise a student, confirm that the selected Taster Day matches the student's code.
Go to Taster Day and open Student Submissions & Timetables. Select the Taster Day named with the student's QR code.
- The scanner finds the student only when the code belongs to a submission for the selected Taster Day.
- If you see "Student submission not found on this taster day!", select the matching Taster Day and scan its code.
- Confirm that the student appears in Student Timetables for that Taster Day.
If the matching code still fails, ask Emma in the app. Give the Taster Day name and the exact message.
