This article will show you how you can delete a student's or parent's account on the system
Deleting an account will remove all of its records on the system.
Once an account is deleted, it cannot be retrieved.
This is a genuine, permanent delete, not an archive. The student or parent record, and everything linked to it (their application form, guardians, and phase or course data), is removed from the database immediately. There's no "undo" button and no self-service way to bring a deleted account back.
Sometimes, schools decide to delete an account so they can register again using the same email address. They usually do this when doing a test on the system.
Some schools also want to do a clean up of the system by deleting the Declined or Withdrawn students.
To delete a student's account, go to the student's profile and look for the "Delete" button under the "more" menu.
You will need to type in the first name of the account that you are deleting to confirm that you are really deleting that account, as this is irreversible.
You'll note that you then have the option to delete the student only, or the contacts who are related to them as well.
To delete a parent's account, go to the parent's profile and look for the "Delete" button under the "Actions" section.
You will need to type in the first name of the account that you are deleting to confirm that you are really deleting that account, as this is irreversible.
Deletion is only possible for one account at a time. If you require a bulk deletion of data from your system, please call us on 0203 667 0764.
Why it behaves this way
Deleting a student or parent triggers a hard delete: the account and its linked records (application form, guardians, phase and course data) are destroyed in the database rather than marked as inactive. There's no version history or backup copy kept inside Admissions+ for this action, which is why the confirmation step asks you to type the first name before it proceeds - it's your only chance to catch a mistake before the record is gone.
Questions staff ask
I deleted a student, parent, or an application form by mistake. Can it be undone?
Not through the app. There's no restore option in Admissions+ once the delete is confirmed. If you delete the wrong account, contact Applicaa support straight away with the account's name and the approximate time of the deletion. In rare cases the development team can attempt a recovery as a one-off technical exception, but this isn't a standard or guaranteed service - always double-check the name you're deleting before you confirm.
Does unarchiving an application form restore a deleted applicant?
No. Archived Forms contains application forms that were archived. Unarchiving a form makes that form active again. It does not restore a deleted student or parent record, or the data that the deletion removed. Use Archived Forms only when the form was archived, not to recover a deleted account.
